Abu Dhabi TV, for EMI (Emirates Media)
A daily two hour magazine programme of
News and Current Affairs
Lifestyle
Interviews
Discussion
Entertainment
This is a four sided studio set that includes a news presentation area, two interview areas, a performance area and an audience and presentation discussion area.
The colours and style were to relate to local Gulf Arab design, with particular reference to Abu Dhabi.
The set represents a large balconied room overlooking the Gulf.
Ceiling pieces with built in practicals 'bring down' the apparent ceiling level. The columns and rostra are internally-lit acrylic, with colour changes.
An artist-painted cloth in greys on white gauze, depicting the towers of Abu Dhabi across the bay, enables a gradual sunset lighting change to take place throughout the programme.
